First-year PR students in PRLN 1220 Writing for Media Relations and PRLN 1250 Digital Apps for Electronic Media partnered with the Canada Nail Cup - Canada's only national nail manicurist competition - to write story pitches, news releases, take photos and video, and provide event media relations.
This was the first time the competition had ever reached out to the media, and our efforts were successful with reporters and videographers from the Canadian Press, Vancouver Sun, Province, Breakfast Television, Ming Pao and Vancouver Courier visiting the competition and producing stories.
